Freeform lenses are typically used to correct aberrations in optical systems or to achieve specific optical functions that cannot be achieved with conventional lenses.
Unlike traditional lenses, which are typically based on simple geometric shapes, freeform lenses can have virtually any shape, depending on the desired optical properties.
Using our 3 or 5-Axis Yasda precision machenery we can make almost any shape. Adding our polishing experience and thin-walled moulding know-how on top of this and we can produce your optically clear polymer freeform lens in higher volumes.
Also for freeform lenses we can start with moulded prototypes made with our most accurate injection compression tooling. We ‘simply’ customize cavities to the freeform and are able to quickly mould the parts.
